The journey so far

1991:

The current A.D.D Managing Director, David Fairbrother launched the company on the 1st of March and A.D.D started life in a small 500 square foot unit in Triangle, West Yorkshire.

After 30 years at the helm, Dave is still as driven today as he was back then and he can often be heard referring A.D.D as his baby. Many of the company’s employees have remained with A.D.D since its inception.

A.D.D began delivering parcels and pallets in the local area as Pallet Networks had not been established back then!

1995:
There was a massive change in direction when Dave was approached by Hillary Devey and she asked him to join her fledgling pallet network, Pall-Ex.

1996:

Pall-Ex began trading and moved an amazing 117 pallets on the very first night. Today the company moves approximately 20,000 pallets daily.

1999:

A.D.D was running five vehicles and outgrew their site in Triangle. A.D.D purchased a plot of land and built a state of art 18,500 ft warehouse in Elland, Halifax. The company moved into the facility on the 1st of September 2000.

2008:

The company continued to grow exponentially, A.D.D had by now expanded to 11 trucks. Dave had the vision to move into storage, he saw that this would be an advantage not only to his current clients but, would also create a second income stream for the company.

2010:

Due to further expansion A.D.D moved again, this time to a 30,000 square foot purpose-built facility. The company began to rocket, and the service levels provided secured more and more lucrative contracts with blue chip companies.

2015:

The company was now operating with 16 vehicles and the decision was made to split the transport and storage businesses. The haulage side of the company moved into 25,000 square foot premises, directly across from the storage arm.

2016:

Further major clients began to utilise the services of A.D.D and the experienced Mark Dunne joined A.D.D as its Operations Director.

2017:

Dave’s longtime friend and business partner Peter Lambert decided to leave the company and Dave became the sole owner of A.D.D.

2018:

A.D.D appointed Darrell Sharp as the Company Financial Director. This allowed A.D.D to begin long term financial and strategic planning.

2019:

A.D.D had been aligned with Pall-Ex for almost 25 years when it was put up for sale. The passionate, driven and determined Dave assisted with a Members Buy Out and Pall-Ex became a Shareholder Member Owned Network. Dave was invited onto the Board as a Non-Executive Director.

2020:

A.D.D was on the move again! This time to its current home in Rochdale, the 120,000 square foot, 8-acre site had undergone major refurbishment and allows storage for a further 12,000 pallets. The A.D.D Storage facility has remained fully operational in Elland.

2021:

The A.D.D vehicle fleet now boasts more than 50 vehicles and over 100 trailers. A.D.D is now the Pall-Ex ‘Northern Hub’ and handles an additional 5,000 pallets per day on top of its own general haulage commitments. Sales Director Bryan Mottershead and Commercial Director Norman Burgess also joined the A.D.D Management Team.

2022:

David Fairbrother continues with his ‘first in, last out’ commitment to his company, he enjoys nothing more than jumping in a truck, (when time allows) dropping loads and visiting his long-term clients and friends, many of whom have been operating and working with A.D.D since its inception. Dave is immensely proud and fiercely protective of all his colleagues and his company.

A.D.D runs an immaculately presented fleet of MAN trucks, invests heavily into its employees and will continue to adapt and grow long into the future.
